A deeper Ionian voyage — from Lefkada south to Zakynthos and back, through wild anchorages, mythic harbours and the prettiest village stops in Greece.
Welcome aboard in Lefkada at 17:00 and settle into life on the Ionian Sea. Spend the evening exploring Lefkada Town — colorful streets, relaxed waterfront cafés and a lively marina atmosphere before the journey south begins.
Depart Lefkada and begin with a gentle sail through the protected inner Ionian waters towards Kalamos or Kastos. Both islands offer peaceful harbors, turquoise water and authentic village life. Kalamos is known for its green mountain scenery and the beautiful bay of Port Leone, while Kastos feels quieter, smaller and wonderfully untouched.
Sail towards Atokos, a tiny uninhabited island and one of the hidden jewels of the Ionian Sea. Anchor in the famous One House Bay, surrounded by white limestone cliffs and transparent turquoise water. This is a pure nature stop — perfect for swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding and a quiet night under the stars.
A short and beautiful passage brings you to Ithaca, the legendary island of Odysseus. Arrive in Vathy, one of the most scenic natural harbors in Greece, or continue towards one of Ithaca's quieter bays. The island combines mythology, green hills, calm waters and small waterfront villages.
Sail south towards Kefalonia and arrive in Poros, a picturesque harbor town surrounded by mountains. This is a comfortable stop before continuing further south towards Zakynthos. Poros offers a relaxed local atmosphere, fish tavernas and beautiful clear water for swimming and snorkeling.
Today the route continues south towards Zakynthos — one of the most iconic islands in Greece. Depending on weather conditions, explore the island's dramatic coastline, sea caves and blue-water bays. Zakynthos is famous for its spectacular cliffs, crystal-clear water and world-renowned beaches.
Spend the day discovering Zakynthos from the sea. Possible highlights include the Blue Caves, Marathonisi Turtle Island, Keri Caves and the beautiful southern bays of the Marine Park. Later, continue to Zakynthos Town for a livelier evening ashore.
Begin the return north with a longer but rewarding passage towards Kefalonia. Arrive in Argostoli, the island's capital, with a lively waterfront, cafés, shops and relaxed evening atmosphere. Kefalonia's scenery feels grand and cinematic — mountains, caves, vineyards and deep blue water.
Cruise along the western side of Kefalonia towards Assos, one of the most beautiful small villages in the Ionian. Assos is a postcard-perfect stop with colorful houses, calm water and the ruins of an old Venetian fortress above the bay. If weather allows, this is one of the most memorable places of the entire route.
A short and scenic sail brings you to Fiskardo, the most elegant harbor of Kefalonia. Fiskardo is known for its colorful Venetian-style houses, boutique restaurants, forested coastline and cosmopolitan summer atmosphere. It is one of the finest overnight stops in the Ionian.
Sail north towards Lefkada and enter the perfectly protected bay of Sivota. Sivota is a favorite among sailors, with calm waters, tavernas, yacht pontoons and a very relaxed cruising atmosphere. It is a comfortable and charming stop after the longer southern part of the itinerary.
A relaxed day through the inner Ionian waters brings you to Meganisi. Meganisi is peaceful, green and full of small bays. Visit Vathy, Spartochori or Porto Spilia, or anchor in one of the island's quiet coves. This is the slow, barefoot side of the Ionian.
Cruise towards Nidri, passing the beautiful island scenery around Skorpios and the protected waters between Lefkada and Meganisi. Nidri offers a livelier final island evening, with cafés, tavernas, shops and a classic Ionian holiday atmosphere. It is also a convenient stop before returning to Lefkada Marina.
Enjoy a final relaxed sailing day back towards Lefkada. There is time for one last swim stop before returning to the marina in the afternoon around 17:00.
